BitWell AMA | Introducing PlatON: PlatON & its ecosystem development on web3.0
On June 9th, James Qu, the Co-founder of PlatON visited the BitWell community and brought a wonderful sharing with the theme “PlatON & its ecosystem development on web3.0”.

1. Firstly, can you briefly introduce yourself?
Hello friends! I’m James, CTO of PlatON. Before joining PlatON, I’ve worked for Morgan-Stanley and for UBS Securities for many years, and have more than 20 years of experience with the development and management of electronic trading platforms.
2. Could you please give us a brief introduction of the PlatON?
First of all, let me explain what PlatON is. PlatON is an open-sourced, community-based, blockchain ecosystem, which aims at serving as the infrastructure for privacy-preserving computation network and distributed economies.
By combining blockchain and privacy-preserving computation technologies, PlatON is building a decentralized and collaborative AI network and global brain to drive the democratization of AI for safe artificial general intelligence. Redefine the business model by protecting data privacy, it provides an infrastructure to solve data related critical business problems. Also beyond that if we could view it as data sovereignty protection. Eventually, it becomes the distributed and democratic AI brain in the coming metaverse.
PlatON was born in Singapore at 2018, initiated and driven by the LatticeX Foundation.
What is PlatON’s core feature ? “Computing interoperability” based on blockchain technology, cryptographic algorithms (Verifiable Computation, Secure Multi-Party Computation, Zero-Knowledge Proof, Homomorphic Encryption, name a few here), and privacy AI.
What is PlatON’s objectives: provides a public infrastructure in open source architecture for global artificial intelligence, distributed application developers, data providers and various organizations, communities and individuals with computing needs.
Where we are? After years of researches and development, we’ve already been a top player in the global privacy-preserving computation field. We will provide an infrastructure supporting massive data asset transactions leveraging our years of experience in Finance, High-tech, AI, etc.
3. Impressive, what are your main features that distinguish you from other projects and what competitive advantages do you have?

PlatON has long been dedicated to the research on cryptography and privacy computing. It boasts an industry-leading cryptography R&D team that brings together well-known cryptography professors and researchers from top universities both at home and abroad, including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Wuhan University, University of Maryland, and Northwestern University.
In terms of the underlying implementation of the blockchain, PlatON’s Giskard Concurrent Byzantine Fault Tolerance (CBFT) algorithm has been formally verified by Runtime Verification and has been verified on the Alaya sandbox network. Its mainnet also started to operate stably. The governance mechanism based on the PoS mechanism also ensures the high performance of the network.
Community technicians who have participated in our testing and sandbox operation may be more aware of these. All of our code has passed SlowMist’s security audit.
In terms of privacy-preserving AI, PlatON released Rosetta, the world’s first privacy-preserving AI architecture, which is also open source. It aims to make the development of privacy-preserving AI, an essential technology for the next data era, faster and easier for developers such as TensorFlow. We have provided financial-level privacy-preserving services for well-known banks.

Blockchain level : performance, security and stability are always the top priorities for our main net launch. We have a long term partnership with SlowMist.
Since the very beginning release of PlatON, internally we’ve gone through all kinds of function tests, exception tests, security tests, governance drills, and stress tests under the testing environment that simulated and reproduced all risks and issues that would occur on the main net
externally, for each round of release, there will be a security audit finished by SlowMist, we’ve ensured the absolute security of the PlatON network with high-quality code. The very core part consensus algorithms, called Giskard (the robot from Asimov’s novel), passed scrutiny formal verification done by RuntimeVerification

2.Could you briefly describe the milestones PlatON_Network has achieved, and about your upcoming plans?
What are the vision and goals in your project that you want to achieve in 2022 and beyond?@AsahiSan789
Since PlatON is focusing on infrastructure, providing core technical infrastructure for DApps on top, our roadmap is also quite concrete and simple which doesn’t cover most of the community driven ecosystem applications, such as bridgets, DEXs, stable coins, Dapps, GameFis etc. For example, a new DeFi, a few bridges, and a NFT rich GameFi called StoneAeon went live recently.
PlatON has published its roadmap or plan via whitepaper, website etc. In the new released white paper 2.0, the future roadmap is focusing on privacy preserving AI platforms and collaborative AI networks.
AI platform to be released this year, and it is under community testing. A relatively complicated testing which requires pretty deep IT knowledge. Meanwhile, PlatON keeps improving privacy algorithms such as ZKP/MPC/HE/etc, Rosetta privacy AI framework, as well as the integrated privacy network.
Looking back, PlatON was delivering every milestone inline with published white paper in the past, keeping verifiable tracking records. I am pretty confident we will achieve our goals this year and 2023. That is not easy to be honest. I am very proud the team and community made those goals successfully.
Looking forward, PlatON is entering a very complicated privacy AI area, which requires data experts, AI experts, and of course cryptography experts to join us.

We have a team with solid background in both academics and technologies.
Blockchain in the core, born to be a financial infrastructure, and our team’s rich traditional finance experience from settlement clearing, payment, and trading platforms helped us foresee the possibility of creative use cases. Also build a solid and secure infrastructure.
Over the past years, we keep investing in cryptography and have achievements in the leading technologies and engineering of cryptography.
All above, backed up with our team’s firm long-term strategic planning and continuing investment, we are here today, and we plan to move on.
4.What plans do you have regarding the Nft space ? @BlizzyBlis
It is no longer a plan, it is a reality now :)
NFT as a standard protocol supported natively by PlatON. From PRC721 to PRC1155 (equivalent to ERC721…ERC1155 and so on), how to use them properly, what contents should be included, how to present them to users, how to use them and trade them are definitely community driven.
The community and users know what is valuable in the digital world, what to be kept and how to spend. NFT represents the community’s precious digital memory.
PlatON supports NFT natively as core infrastructure, community to release NFT and build the marketplace.
NFT is a good buddy for GameFi, without NFTs, GameFi won’t be fun.
After nearly a year of preparation, we had our 1st gamefi project — StoneAeon live in Q2. Please keep updated with its following up roadmap and the discord announcements for the latest news.
Starting from StoneAeon, civilizations are in their initial stone stage, plenty room for players to act and image. How to build up the culture, how to initially kick off the economy… I also have many questions. I will play and find out.

5. Can you list 3 killer features of your project that make it ahead of competitors? What are the competitive advantages that you feel most confident about?@al_Mubasshir_
That’s a bit of a repeat of the intro part. Let me try to exclude those common blockchain related, focus on unique points of PlatON, they are
1.trusted infrastructure for a freedom protected digital life based on computation, that is math, cryptography, and computer science.
2.to build the infrastructure needed for autonomous AI agents and their collaboration, to facilitate the emergence and evolution of advanced AI, and to explore the path to general AI, based on privacy protected data.
3.to extend the power of AI to anyone who requires it through our decentralized network and open-source software tools to make the best AI technology accessible for the mass.
In summary, it is crucial to have a decentralized, democratic, privacy-preserved general AI framework to keep human civilization moving in the right direction forward.
This is the mission of PlatON as next generation internet infrastructure protocol to build a decentralized and collaborative AI network and global brain to drive the democratization of AI for safe artificial general intelligence.

1. Where can I buy your tokens now, what are your current contracts address and how can I buy them and what are the benefits?
LAT is the native token of PlatON with different use cases and some of this use case includes:
It is used as a gas fee on the PlatON network when transfers are made
It is used to process PlatON applications as you need to pay almost a negligible fee which makes PlatON very cheap when compared to other network
PlatON operate a PPOS network and holders can stake LAT to secure the network and also get rewarded for doing so
The use cases are quite much and all can be seen from the LAT whitepaper

2. I want to know more about team . Are you a anonymous or public team? Where is your project from and is it a global project or not?
We are a public team headquartered in Singapore. Surely we are positioned as the global project. For those non English speaking countries , you are free to join our local ambassador plan to know more about PlatON.
3. Marketing, security, community and partnerships are the most important things for the project. So which issue would you prioritize the most? And do you have a plan to develop all 4 aspects?
All those 4 aspects can be undertaken at the same time. As I said on the Part 2, we have a strong team in tech, finance, and marketing who can address the problems.
so I wouldn’t say the priority. We choose all.
4. Most of the tokens has usecase and utilities and buyback and burning features. What are your tokens features and tokenomics?
Lat is the foundation of PlatON ecosystem. we have a detailed distribution listed below:
l 10% will be used to award community developers, dApp developers, and node extensions
l 10% of will be used for academic research, algorithm research and related activities
l 15% for the daily operation and maintenance expenses of the Latticex Foundation
l 20% is allocated to private issuers
l 20% goes to the founding team
l 15% in the reserve pool
l 10% goes to the eco-fund

5. Nowadays, NFT and Metaverse is booming & popular.Market follows the hype of them.Do you have any plan related to NFT & metaverse?When and where do you plan to list your tokens after the community sale in the next few days? Which CEX and DEX do you plan to use?
If we treat NFT as an encrypted and secured package of assets, the answer is yes.Before NFT, native tokens like BTC and ETH demonstrated how human assets transfer from physical world to virtual — or metaverse as we call it now.
and the physical world regulation, law framework is catching up now.
My guess, NFT in the metaverse will be similar. Right now, there is no proper law framework that exists in the physical world which can apply to the digital world(metaverse), “code is law” or “smart contract is law” is playing a vital role in the metaverse.
When the business model or service model is mature and proven acceptable, the physical law frame will adjust itself and admit the virtual digital law, by then the paradigm shifting will move forward.
